When we began planning our “Kick the Plastic Habit” campaign over the winter, we reached out to several local organizations to get their feedback and support. One of those was Green Broad Ripple, whose mission is to change the world one community at a time, starting with our own.
They, along with Green With Indy, helped us plan the new Recycling Booth at the Market and will be helping to man the booth during the season. They see their participation as a first step in moving us closer to being a zero-waste market.
Green Broad Ripple Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to making Broad Ripple the first Green Community in Indianapolis They promote events and projects that educate and support reduce-reuse-recycle practices and a cohesive plan to move toward a more sustainable future.
Some of their projects include the Bill Brink Memorial Garden, the Complete Streets Initiative, the Local Food Guide, Urban Gardens, Envision Broad Ripple, Village Recycling Initiative, Green Alleys, and Bike Rides with Indy Cog.
